On September 1st, 2022, Peter Jaeger was involved in a domestic dispute. Peter’s wife locked herself into the bathroom of their room and called 911.
She told officers that Jaeger had been drinking and threatened both her life as well as his own.
On the call, Peter can be heard yelling from a distance. His wife told officers that he had a gun and “was ready to end it all.” Before the police arrived, Peter went to open the garage door.
Rockford Police officers Carlitos Mctizic and Alexander Stone responded to the scene with full knowledge Peter had a gun, and his wife had locked herself in a bathroom. Neither Mctizic or Stone announced their presence at the house.
Stone entered the garage and led Mctizic to a door that led into the home.
Upon entering the home, Stone and Mctizic both witnessed Peter exit the bathroom his wife was in with his back towards the officers.
Stone could see the revolver in Peter’s hand down by his waist. When Peter began to turn towards officers, Stone shot him four times, killing him instantly.
