On October 4th, 2022, Mildred Maclin, a sixty-two-year-old woman who prior to being arrested was living in a nursing home due to her poor health, was transported to the Winnebago County Jail on the U.S. Marshall hold.
She had spent nearly a month in the Winnebago County jail when she told a nurse she was having stomach pain. The nurses examined her before deciding to send to the hospital.
Mildred passed away November 2nd, 2022.
The autopsy performed by the Winnebago County Coroner ruled Mildred’s death was “due to multiple medical problems of uncertain cause.”
This was the thirty-first case investigated and justified by the Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force.
Mildred Maclin was at least the third of five deaths in the Winnebago County Jail the Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force investigated and justified in 2022.
