Samantha Standard has been a Rockford police officer since 2019.

Standard was assigned to work multiple protests against local police violence outside Rockford City Market most notably on September 25th, 2020.

She was approached by a man alleging that a white middle aged man throw a water bottle at protestors. The white man was with his wife and a small child. The complaint then crossed the street to take a photo of the man when the man approached and shoved the complaint.

It was later revealed the couple were off duty Winnebago County Sheriff deputies. The complaint would be arrested later on in the evening after the deputies complained to other police officers about the incident.
