In 2010, Trout was named in a personal injury lawsuit that alleged on December 28th, 2008, Rockford police officer Robert Trout attempted to arrest a Rockford community member on an outstanding contempt warrant.


It’s alleged that Trout, despite receiving no resistance from the community member, grabbed and slammed them to the ground.


The community member landed face first, suffering facial fractures and two black eyes.
