Rebecca Boeke (Anderson) has been a Rockford police officer since 2003. She is married to Rockford Police officer Christopher Boeke.

On May 24th, 2019, around 8 a.m. Boeke met with then sergeant Randy Berke and detective Janie Martin regarding a sexual assault investigation into fellow RPD officer Eric Thurmond. Berke asked her to complete a search warrant for Thurmond’s Jeep patriot where the assault occurred.

The Jeep had already been impounded by RPD officers. Boeke was wrote the search warrant and sent it then assistant State’s attorney Mike Rock.

In the afternoon, ASA Rock approved the warrant and Boeke and Bruce Voyles executed it. They swabbed for DNA and gathered hair and fiber samples. They also collected an iPhone during the search.
