Throughout the fall of 2020 Turner was assigned to work multiple protests against local police violence both at Rockford City Market and the Occupation at City Hall.
During these occasions Turner witnessed as fellow officers brutalized, slammed, struck, and knocked nonviolent protestors unconscious.
In these instances of abuse, Turner turned her back on it and attempted to shield the abuse from eyes of protestors and cameras.
