Nicole Shelly

Nicole Shelly (Macias) has been a Rockford police officer since 2014.


In 2014, while working a speed enforcement assignment with her training officer Richard Beaufils, Shelly observed a speeding vehicle and began pursuit. The vehicle blew through a red light at the 9th and State street intersection.


Shelly followed the car through the red light causing her squad car to be hit by two on coming vehicles. Investigators blamed Shelly for not making sure the intersection was clear before continuing her pursuit.
