Nathan Milne

Nathan Milne has been a Rockford police officer since January 2012. In 2015, Milne was briefly fired then rehired.

2015-OP-0002764 Ex wife filed OP after Milne cut with a knife causing 38 stitches


In 2015, Milne’s ex wife filed an OP against Milne after he went to her home and cut her in the arm twice with a kitchen knife. The cuts required 38 stitches.


Loves Park police responded to the 911 call as well as paramedics. The ex wife told Loves Park police of Milne’s actions and wanted to press charges.


They launched an “investigation” that lasted three weeks before declining to pursue charges against Milne.


The states attorney reviewed the case in January of 2016. They too declined to press charges.


After OP hearings Judge Martinez Milne to not have any possession of firearms. This prevented Milne from being a police officer.


The order was eventually changed allowing Milne to return to the Rockford Police Department.


In 2022, the city settled an excessive force lawsuit for $50,000 stemming from 2017 that involved officers Milne and Dustin Perone.


It was alleged that Milne tackled and slammed a nonviolent burglary suspect. Once on the ground Milne punched the suspect nearly ten times and tased him.


In 2019, Milne made $77,773 in salary + $17,373 in overtime = $95,145 + $25,350 in health insurance + $30,497 pension pay.


In 2020, they made $81,515 in salary + $15,484 in overtime = $96,999 + $24,960 in health insurance + $33,025 in pension pay.


In 2021, they made $90,998 in salary + $19,018 in overtime = $110,016 + $24,180 in health insurance + $34,932 in pension pay.


In 2022, they made $92,062 in salary + $35,324 in overtime = $127,387 + $24,960 in health insurance + $39,700 in pension pay.

In 2023, they made $96,835 in salary + $47,355 in overtime = $144,190 + $24,960 in health insurance + $46,059 in pension pay.


In 2024, they made $94,849 in salary + $26,006 in overtime = $120,855 + $26,325 in health insurance + $52,059 in pension pay.
