Mariusz Misiaszek #2034

Mariusz Misiaszek has been a Rockford police officer since 2012.


He was assigned to monitor the first protest in Rockford following the murder of George Floyd on May 30th, 2020 at RPD District 1.


During the protest, individuals allegedly threw rocks and other objects at the police building and officers themselves.


Officers arrested ten individuals throughout the course of the protest but only one was charged with aggravated assault for throwing objects.


That protestor was tased multiple times by Kyle Parr and other officers.


Misiaszek came to the area after the protestor was on the ground after being tased in the leg by Parr. Misiaszek repeatedly stomped on the protestors leg.


The protestor was in police custody for two and a half hours, with the taser prongs still in his leg, before being taken to trial.


After a jury trial nearly a 1000 days after going to trial, the protestor was found not guilty after a jury trial. He testified that he never threw rocks.


The State provided no evidence beside the testimony of Parr and Misiaszek. Misiaszek testified that he never saw the protestor with rocks.

Misiaszek had a stalking no contact order filed against him. The emergency order was granted however it was dismissed on the first court date.
