Joshua Peterson has been a Rockford Police officer since May 2004.
Following the events of May 30th 2020 Peterson was assigned to investigate the incident at Burlington Coat Factory. Through reviewing the footage, Peterson found blood from a decent sized cut on the scene and a backpack left behind by the alleged break in. There was an ID in the bag that led them to a suspect.
On the arrest of the individual he immediately told officers “I did it.” The individual was taken back to District Two to be interviewed by Peterson. The suspect gave up why he did it, and who he did it with.
