In the fall of 2020, Herra was assigned to work multiple City Market protests against local police violence.
On September 4th, 2020, under orders from then ADC Doug Pann, Herra and Kyle Robertson were tasked with arresting two protesters. The duo saw the two on the State Street Bridge. They exited their patrol car and approached the two protesters.
Herra grabbed slammed the young woman knocking her unconscious onto the sidewalk pavement.
