Jhordynne Alexander has been a Rockford Police officer since September 2015.
In the late fall of 2020, Alexander responded to a call along with five other Rockford officers in the parking lot of Old City Hall.
Members of the Occupation at City Hall witnessed and recorded this incident where the RPD officers confronted a male passenger of a parked, and turned off vehicle.
Alexander threatened to tase the passenger while others grabbed the man and pulled him onto the ground. They each held him down, with Alexander sitting on his head.
The man was charged with three counts of resisting arrest and one count of driving on a revoked license.
In early 2021, Alexander was assigned to give out ordinance violations and enforce bans from City Hall property on members of the Occupation at City Hall.
In July of 2023, days after a man died in the custody of ISP, Rockford Park police and RPD officers, Alexander and Joshua Arthur responded to an unrelated incident at the Occupation of Rockford’s City Hall.
When questioned about their possible involvement in the death Alexander responded saying “it’s not a big deal”
