Jesse Geiken has been a Rockford Police officer since November 2007.

Geiken has mainly worked as a K-9 & SWAT officer.

On May 30th, 2020, Geiken, as a SWAT team member, was assigned to monitor the first protest in Rockford following the murder of George Floyd.

When the SWAT team was activated, they quickly formed a skirmish line outside District 1. Geiken was in full SWAT gear with a SWAT shield.

As the skirmish line was directed to move forward to push the protesters out, Geiken came across a woman alone yelling for officers not to touch her.

She made no threats or aggressive movements towards officers. She repeatedly yelled for officers not to touch her.

Geiken hit her multiple times with his SWAT shield, causing her to be knocked to the ground.

She was not arrested.

Following that incident, Joshua Carpenter asked Geiken to trade weapons, Carpenter's less lethal bean bag shotgun for Geiken's shield.

Carpenter requested this after he lost his glasses. Geiken accepted the trade and was quick to use his new weapon.

On at least four different occasions, Geiken fired the bean bag shotgun multiple times at protesters.

None of whom were arrested.
