On May 30th, 2020, Spriggs was assigned to monitor the first protest in Rockford following the murder of George Floyd.
On at least two separate occasions, Spriggs fired multiple rounds of OC spray into the crowd outside District 1.
Spriggs worked as a sergeant in charge of the SCOPE team during 2019-2021. Spriggs oversaw SCOPE officers during 2020 City Market and the beating of Denzel Dunivant.
