This is Eric McClain’s since stint as a Rockford police officer. McClain was rehired in 2018.

On August 10th, 2008, a 911 call was made to report a domestic incident on Darwood Drive where Kiethedric Hines was allegedly trying to break down a woman’s door.

When Rockford Police Officer Brad Lauer arrived on scene, Kieth ran.

The chase went through multiple backyards ultimately ending when Kieth went to hop a fence but was tased in the back by Lauer.

Rockford police officer Eric McClain arrived as back up and pepper sprayed Kieth as he was on the ground. The two RPD officers allegedly beat Kieth into restraints.

Kieth told officers that he was struggling to breathe but the kept him in cuffs as they waited for an ambulance to arrive.

The 31-year-old Kiethedric Hines died later that day.

This was the fourth non shooting deadly force incident in two years by police in Winnebago Ciunty.

This was the 17th deadly force incident in the 2000’s by police in Winnebago County.

On December 30th, 2018, McClain and Andrew Thompson, at the request of them sergeant Kevin Nordberg, drove the “BAT” vehicle to a standoff at the Blake household. McClain left the scene before SWAT officers snuck in the back door and shot and killed Kerry Blake.

In 2019, McClain made $70,615 in salary + $6,395 in overtime = $77,010 + $25,350 in health insurance + $30,497 pension pay.

In 2020, they made $104,247 in salary + $6,524 in overtime = $110,771 + $25,350 in health insurance + $33,025 in pension pay.

In 2021, they made $101,772 in salary + $4,191 in overtime = $105,963 + $24,960 in health insurance + $34,932 in pension pay.

In 2022, they made $112,038 in salary + $7,953 in overtime = $119,991 + $25,350 in health insurance + $39,700 in pension pay.

In 2023, they made $120,986 in salary + $20,554 in overtime = $141,540 + $25,350 in health insurance + $46,059 in pension pay.

In 2024, they made $113,259 in salary + $5,020 in overtime = $118,279 + $26,325 in health insurance + $52,059 in pension pay.
