Eddie Torrance has been a Rockford Police officer since October 1994.

Torrance is currently an Assistant Deputy Chief. He is also the ADC over the SWAT team under deputy chief Robert Reffett.

Torrance has consistently been atop the overtime earners since joining RPD - at times doubling his salary.

Torrance previously worked as a DUI cop.

On May 30th, 2020, Torrance was the SWAT team leader. Torrance initiated the arrest of a protestor and struck them with his baton.
