D’evyron Boone

D’evyron Boone has been a Rockford Police officer since July 2008.

Boone was at the center of a controversy in 2013.

Rockford Police officers responded to a call for a welfare check regarding the son of then Rockford NAACP chapter president, Lloyd Johnston.

It would later be reported that the ex-wife of Lloyd called in the welfare check after engaging in an argument through the phone with Johnston.

The ex-wife alleged they heard a loud struggle before the phone cut off.

Johnston and his son would later state that there was no struggle between them.

When officers arrived at the scene, Johnston refused to let them in, citing his constitutional rights.

At one point, Boone told Johnston, “We don’t need a warrant,” before threatening to kick the door in.

The standoff would end when the son came to the door to prove he was unharmed.

In more recent years, it has been alleged that Boone has sought out multiple relationships with mothers of deceased GSW victims in Rockford, IL.

In 2019, Boone made $83,712 in salary + $8,071 in overtime = $91,783 + $25,350 in health insurance + $30,497 in pension pay.
