On February 6th, 2019, Boeke responded to the shooting of Randy Pierson by then Rockford Police officer Timothy Stec on Highway 20. Boeke cleared onlookers from the Montague Bridge.

Boeke was assigned to work several Rockford City Market protests in 2020. The protests started in the summer of 2020 in an attempt to raise awareness regarding the police violence that happened on the night of May 30th, 2020, the day of the first protest in Rockford following the murder of George Floyd.

Over the course of the City Market protests from July 31st - September 25th, 2020, 33 protesters were arrested, some multiple times.
