Carlye Gorsuch (Heitter) has been a Rockford Police officer since September 2021.

On December 24th, 2023, RPD officers Gorsuch and Michael Rhein responded to a 911 call made by an apartment neighbor of Patrick Kirby who said they overheard him repeating “Help me. Kill me.”

Kirby eventually came to the door with a box cutter and small knife in hand. The two cops yelled at him to put it down. When he did not, Rhein shot him twice ultimately killing him.

In 2023, they made $70,687 in salary + $8,528 in overtime = $79,215 + $25,350 in health insurance + $46,059 in pension pay.

In 2024, Gorsuch made $70,146 in salary + $8,492 in overtime = $78,638 + $26,325 in health insurance + $52,059 pension pay.
