On February 6th, 2019, around 11:30 a.m Strawser and Michael Fitzgerald responded to the shooting of Randy Pierson by then Rockford Police officer Timothy Stec on Highway 20.
Upon arrival, Strawser and Fitzgerald confirmed that Stec was the shooter and he was not injured.
Strawser is married to Rockford police officer Stacy Strawser (Beaman).
