Alexander Stone has been a Rockford police officer since September 2018.
On September 1st, 2022, Stone and Carlitos Mctizic responded to a domestic call. They had been told that the garage was open and the wife of Peter Jaeger called after her husband threatened her and pulled a gun out. She told officers that Peter had been drinking and was “ready to end it”.
Mctizic arrived first and waited for Stone to arrive. The two went into garage where they found a door that lead into the house. Stone opened the door and stepped into the home.
There they saw Peter with his back to officers closing the door to the bathroom that his wife was in. They never announced their presence at the scene. When he was turning around, Stone saw a gun in Peter’s hand. Stone shot Peter four times, killing Peter Jaeger.
This was the 29th case in a row ruled justified by the Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force.
