Kyle Schaefer has been a Rockford Police officer since 2022.
2007-TR-0052710 - Failure to reduce speed - Guilty
2016-TR-0018352 - Driving 15-20 over - Guilty
On April 18th, 2023, he responded to the detainment of a May 30th Alliance member by RPD officer Kenneth Farmer.
Throughout the detainment the member confronted Farmer on the fact he murdered someone.
Farmer, even though the member told him their name and Farmer himself gave multiple indications he was familiar with the member, charged them with Obstruction Identity and walking on a Highway.
The member was ordered out of the squad to be handcuffed by the two officers. Despite receiving no resistance from the member of the May 30th Alliance, the two officers struggled to put cuffs on him.
Because of this difficultly, Schaefer threatened the protester telling them “I’m going to throw you to the ground!”
In 2022, Schaefer made $38,792 in salary + $683 in overtime = $39,475 + $25,350 in health insurance + $39,700 in pension pay.
In 2023, they made $68,083 in salary + $7,216 in overtime = $75,299 + $25,350 in health insurance + $46,059 in pension pay.
In 2024, they made $63,730 in salary + $2,880 in overtime = $66,610.
